Loveland Ski Area Overview
Loveland is renowned for its abundant annual snowfall of 422 inches, providing consistent, dry, powdery snow. This allows the resort to be one of the first in the nation to open and one of the last to close each season. It also offers snowcat skiing along the Continental Divide.

Loveland Ski Area Lift Tickets
At Loveland, you have the option to purchase day lift tickets, season passes, and the Loveland Pass. Children age 5 and under can ski for free. For rates and conditions, please refer to the official website.
Day Lift Ticket
Loveland offers three types of day tickets.
- All-Mountain Lift Tickets gives you access to all lifts.
- Loveland Valley Only Ticket gives access to Lift 7, Lift 3 and the Magic Carpet surface lift. This is ideal for beginners.
- Half-Day Lift Ticket gives you access to all lifts from 11:30 am. This is only available for adults (Age 15+).
Season Passes
Loveland offers two types of season passes and is available for purchase around late August.
- The Loveland Season Pass entitles you to unlimited access to Loveland throughout the ski season and three days of skiing at each of the affiliated resorts. You also receive discounts at Loveland facilities.
- The Midweek Pass gives you unlimited access to Loveland on Monday to Fridays plus a 3 free midweek skiing days at Monarch Mountain. You also receive discounts at Loveland facilities.
Loveland Pass Card
The Loveland Pass Card offers a convenient option for skiers and riders who are not yet prepared to make a long-term commitment to a season pass. Passholders can purchase discounted lift tickets each visit, and also receive a free lift ticket on every 5th visit. It is available for purchase in Fall.
Loveland Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Loveland offers a range of lesson options, including the group lessons, private lessons, and special programs. The lessons can only be booked via call. It is highly recommended to book in advance. Below highlights the differences between the lesson options.
- Group lessons are available for 4 years old and above. Children lessons (age 4-14) include lift ticket and equipment rental. Adult group lessons are only for first-timers and beginners with the option of full or half day.
- Private lessons are 2 or 3 hours and cater to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels. The price only includes the lesson, but provides discount on lift tickets and equipment rentals. There is also an option for a family private lesson, which is for up to 4 first-timers aged 7 and above. The family option includes lift tickets and rental.
- Special Programs offered are multi-session lessons or advanced training during the ski season. This includes child 3-class private pass, adult first-timer 3-class pass, women’s only clinics and telemark clinics.
Nearest Town to Loveland Ski Area
Loveland Ski Area is conveniently situated only 11.5 miles away from Silverthorne. This ski town is known for its easy accessibility to seven ski resorts within a one-hour drive including Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Loveland, and Vail. Besides skiing, Silverthorne has a vibrant arts scene, shopping as well as winter activities such as sledding, ice fishing, and snowshoeing.

Ptarmigan Roost at Loveland
The Ptarmigan Roost Café, situated at the top of the Ptarmigan Lift at an elevation of 12,050 feet, serves a variety of food and beverages including burgers, soups, chili, light snacks, hot chocolate, beer, and wine.

The Rathskeller
The Rathskeller, situated below at the east end of The Basin Lodge, is the go-to spot for locals looking for a snack or après drink.
